The ControlEnum and Control helper classes defined in gen-controls.py
are useful for other generator scripts. Move them to a separate file to
make it possible to share them.

Laurent Pinchart dc067c4bce utils: codegen: gen-controls.py: Convert to jinja2 templates
Jinja2 templates help separate the logic related to the template from
the generation of the data. The python code becomes much clearer as a
result.

As an added bonus, we can use a single template file for both controls

Laurent Pinchart cbffcbe362 meson: Fix mismatch in controls and properties generated file names
The header for controls and properties are generated from the
control_ids.h.in and property_ids.h.in templates respectively, and the
generated files are named control_ids.h and property_ids.h.

For sources, the templates are named control_ids.cpp.in and
property_ids.cpp.in, but the output files are named controls_ids.cpp and
properties_ids.cpp. This discrepancy causes confusion. Fix it.

Laurent Pinchart b8d318ebeb meson: Store controls and properties YAML files in variables
When generating control headers, the YAML files to be used are
determined dynamically based on the selected pipeline handlers. As part
of this process, the build system populates an array of meson File
objects used as an input for the control headers generation custom
target, as well as an array of file names (as strings). The file names
array is later used to generate the control source files for the
libcamera core, as well as the source code for controls support in the
Python bindings.

Both of the source code generators manually turn the array of file names
into File objects. This duplicates code and reduces readability. A third
similar implementation has also been proposed to generate control
support sources in the GStreamer element, making the issue worse.

To simplify this, store File objects instead of file names in the
controls_files array. As the meson configuration summary doesn't support
File objects, create a separate controls_files_names to store the file
names for that sole purpose.

The exact same process occurs for properties, address them the same way.

The libcamera_tracepoint_header variable stores the tracepoints.h header

variable.

Add the tracepoints.h header to libcamera_internal_headers instead of

makes libcamera_internal_sources contain sources only, improving clarity

Laurent Pinchart 186d75b10c libcamera: Consolidate all IPA headers in libcamera_ipa_headers
The IPA headers are listed in two different meson variables, one for
generated headers, and one for the other headers. There's no real reason
for this split, consolidate all of them in the libcamera_ipa_headers
variable.

While at it, don't add the IPA headers to the libcamera_internal_sources

Add support for using separate YAML files for controls and properties

done through the controls_map variable in include/libcamera/meson.build.

This simplifies management of vendor control definitions and avoids

Naushir Patuck bd6658943a controls: Add vendor control/property support to generation scripts
Add support for vendor-specific controls and properties to libcamera.
The controls/properties are defined by a "vendor" tag in the YAML
control description file, for example:

vendor: rpi
controls:
  - MyExampleControl:
      type: string
      description: |
        Test for libcamera vendor-specific controls.

This will now generate a control id in the libcamera::controls::rpi
namespace, ensuring no id conflict between different vendors, core or
draft libcamera controls. Similarly, a ControlIdMap control is generated
in the libcamera::controls::rpi namespace.

A #define LIBCAMERA_HAS_RPI_VENDOR_CONTROLS is also generated to allow
applications to conditionally compile code if the specific vendor
controls are present. For the python bindings, the control is available
with libcamera.controls.rpi.MyExampleControl. The above controls
example applies similarly to properties.

Existing libcamera controls defined in control_ids.yaml are given the
"libcamera" vendor tag.

A new --mode flag is added to gen-controls.py to specify the mode of
operation, either 'controls' or 'properties' to allow the code generator
to correctly set the #define string.

As a drive-by, sort and redefine the output command line argument in
gen-controls.py and gen-py-controls.py to ('--output', '-o') for
consistency.

Laurent Pinchart fe67032471 libcamera: Make IPA module signing recommended instead of mandatory
Commit b382f67c83 ("libcamera: Make IPA module signing mandatory for
the meantime") made openssl and gnutls dependencies mandatory to work
around the lack of proper IPA module isolation support, which broke
operation without module signatures. This has now been fixed, so IPA
module isolation isn't strictly required anymore.

There are few use cases for disabling module signing completely, given
that the openssl or gnutls dependencies are available on the vast
majority of systems and the overheard introduced by isolating all IPA
modules when signatures are not available is better avoided.
Nonetheless, libcamera should operate properly with forced IPA module
isolation, so we can support those use cases.

Adopt a middle-ground approach to avoid unintentional isolation by
documenting the dependencies as recommended, and warn at meson setup
time if they are not found.

Han-Lin Chen fcb0ea001a libcamera: Introduce YamlParser as a helper to parse yaml files
Introduce YamlParser as a helper to convert contents of a yaml file to
a tree based structure for easier reading, and to avoid writing parser
with raw yaml tokens. The class is based on libyaml, and only support
reading but not writing a yaml file.

The interface is inspired by Json::Value class from jsoncpp:

Naushir Patuck 54637a615d utils: gen-version: Pass the meson source root to the gen-version.sh script
The gen-version.sh script expects to be called from a git repo, and sets its
src_root variable accordingly. This may not always be the case if it is built
from a tarball source - full support for which is in a future commit.

The MESON_SOURCE_ROOT environnement variable does not get set when called from
the meson vcs_tag() function, but does when called from the run_command()
function, so that cannot be used either.

Instead, explicitly pass the meson source root to the gen-version.sh script.

Javier Martinez Canillas e00149fccb meson: Set a SONAME version in the libcamera libraries
The libcamera and libcamera-base libraries are currently unversioned, but
donwstream users expect these to have a proper SONAME version in order to
package them.

A stable release has not yet happened because the project is still under
development and the API/ABI might change. But having a versioned SONAME
would allow distributions to package libcamera, without the need to add
any downstream patch to set the version.

Since the "0.0.0" version is already used in different places, let's also
use that as the library version. The meson build system will use the first
part of the version ("0") as the SONAME version, which is aligned with the
convention used by other projects:

$ ls /lib64/libcamera*so* -1
/lib64/libcamera-base.so
/lib64/libcamera-base.so.0
/lib64/libcamera-base.so.0.0.0
/lib64/libcamera.so
/lib64/libcamera.so.0
/lib64/libcamera.so.0.0.0

$ objdump -p /lib64/libcamera.so.0.0.0 | grep SONAME

Kieran Bingham f3629363c4 libcamera: Give MappedFrameBuffer its own implementation
The MappedFrameBuffer is a convenience feature which sits on top of the
FrameBuffer and facilitates mapping it to CPU accessible memory with
mmap.

This implementation is internal and currently sits in the same internal
files as the internal FrameBuffer, thus exposing those internals to
users of the MappedFramebuffer implementation.

Move the MappedFrameBuffer and MappedBuffer implementation to its own
implementation files, and fix the sources throughout to use that
accordingly.
