f84522d7cd libcamera: controls: Expose string controls as std::string_view
When retrieving the value from a `ControlValue` usually one of two
things happen: a small, trivially copyable object is returned by
value; or a view into the internal buffer is provided. This is true
for everything except strings, which are returned in `std::string`,
incurring the overhead of string construction.

To guarantee no potentially "expensive" copies, use `std::string_view`
pointing to the internal buffer to return the value. This is similar
to how other array-like types are returned with a `Span<>`.

This is an API break, but its scope is limited to just `properties::Model`.

8cda6915e6 libcamera: controls: Generate macro for each control
Generate a macro in the form of LIBCAMERA_HAS_$VENDOR_VENDOR_$MODE_$NAME
for each control so that its existence can be checked easily and without
extra version checks.

dc067c4bce utils: codegen: gen-controls.py: Convert to jinja2 templates
Jinja2 templates help separate the logic related to the template from
the generation of the data. The python code becomes much clearer as a
result.

As an added bonus, we can use a single template file for both controls
and properties.

829acb3ab0 libcamera: Drop file name from header comment blocks in templates
Source files in libcamera start by a comment block header, which
includes the file name and a one-line description of the file contents.
While the latter is useful to get a quick overview of the file contents
at a glance, the former is mostly a source of inconvenience. The name in
the comments can easily get out of sync with the file name when files
are renamed, and copy & paste during development have often lead to
incorrect names being used to start with.

Readers of the source code are expected to know which file they're
looking it. Drop the file name from the header comment blocks in
template files and templates embedded in generator scripts.

6728160b11 libcamera: controls: Generate enum value-name maps
Generate maps for each control enum which associate strings that
represent the enum values with the values themselves. This change
will allow us to refer to enumerated control values using the
string. For example if we want to pass variables to an algorithm
for use when a control has a particular value we can embed within
tuning files a dictionary that uses the control values as keys.

e18a007b9d libcamera: controls: Use vendor tags for draft controls and properties
Label draft controls and properties through the "draft" vendor tag
and deprecate the existing "draft: true" mechanism. This uses the new
vendor tags mechanism to place draft controls in the same
libcamera::controls::draft namespace and provide a defined control id
range for these controls. This requires moving all draft controls from
control_ids.yaml to control_ids_draft.yaml.

One breaking change in this commit is that draft control ids also move
to the libcamera::controls::draft namespace from the existing
libcamera::controls namespace. This is desirable to avoid API breakages
when adding new libcamera controls. So, for example, the use of
controls::NOISE_REDUCTION_MODE will need to be replaced with
controls::draft::NOISE_REDUCTION_MODE.

bd6658943a controls: Add vendor control/property support to generation scripts
Add support for vendor-specific controls and properties to libcamera.
The controls/properties are defined by a "vendor" tag in the YAML
control description file, for example:

vendor: rpi
controls:
  - MyExampleControl:
      type: string
      description: |
        Test for libcamera vendor-specific controls.

This will now generate a control id in the libcamera::controls::rpi
namespace, ensuring no id conflict between different vendors, core or
draft libcamera controls. Similarly, a ControlIdMap control is generated
in the libcamera::controls::rpi namespace.

A #define LIBCAMERA_HAS_RPI_VENDOR_CONTROLS is also generated to allow
applications to conditionally compile code if the specific vendor
controls are present. For the python bindings, the control is available
with libcamera.controls.rpi.MyExampleControl. The above controls
example applies similarly to properties.

Existing libcamera controls defined in control_ids.yaml are given the
"libcamera" vendor tag.

A new --mode flag is added to gen-controls.py to specify the mode of
operation, either 'controls' or 'properties' to allow the code generator
to correctly set the #define string.

As a drive-by, sort and redefine the output command line argument in
gen-controls.py and gen-py-controls.py to ('--output', '-o') for
consistency.

0a64cf8b76 libcamera: Convert to pragma once
Remove the verbose #ifndef/#define/#endif pattern for maintaining
header idempotency, and replace it with a simple #pragma once.

This simplifies the headers, and prevents redundant changes when
header files get moved.

ef7a07dd8a libcamera: controls: Generate an array of valid values
For each Control that supports enumerated values generate an array
of ControlValue which contains the full list of valid values.

At the expense of a slight increase in memory occupation this change
allows the construction of the ControlInfo associated with a Control
from the values list, defaulting the minimum and maximum values
reported by the ControlInfo.

Extend the control and property framework to support exposing draft
controls and properties in a scoped namespace.

The controls/properties themselves will retain the same ordering in the
relevant enum/id maps - but the access to any draft control will require
explicitly referencing through its' draft:: namespace prefix.

f3f1807a1f libcamera: Replace C++ comments with C comments
The control_ids.h.in and property_ids.h.in headers use C++-style
comments, when the coding style mandates C-style comments. Fix them.

While at it, adjust three minor typos in comments.

In order to deserialise a ControlList, we will need to lookup ControlId
instances based on their numerical ID. Generate a global map from the
controls definitions to support such a lookup.

8ea6912c96 libcamera: controls: Auto-generate control_ids.h and control_ids.cpp
Bring back auto-generation of control ids. In this version, both the
header and the source files are generated from a single YAML file that
stores all control definitions. This allows centralising controls in a
single file, while the previous version required keeping both
declarations (in a header) and documentation (in a the source) in sync
manually.

Using YAML as a format to store control definitions is a trade-off
between ease of use (there are many YAML parsers available) and
simplicity (XML was considered, but would have lead to more complex
processing). A new build time dependency is added on python3-yaml, which
should be available as a package in all distributions and build
environments.

The YAML format is likely to change over time as we improve
documentation of controls, the first version simply copies the
information currently available. Future improvements should also include
a YAML schema to validate the YAML source file.
